She reaches with tenderness; he answers with teeth.
Caught between longing and danger, she clings to the illusion that love can tame what is meant to consume.
But some embraces are not salvation—they are surrender.

 

While trying to help him out, she leans closer—
drawn by hope, not fear.
But his hunger is louder than her kindness,
and what she offers to heal him
is exactly what begins to consume her.

 

The piece is inspired by my own personal experience.I had a very bad habit when I was younger of forcing myself to see the best in the most horrible and immoral people.
That got me into so much troubles; I guess I learned my lesson.
